God is the ultimate mechanic

By KATIE TAYLOR,

When the automobile was first invented, not many had them, much less knew how to work on them. One hot summer day, a man was driving along when his automobile suddenly broke down.

He got out and checked out what he could, but like the rest of the world, he was still new to the vehicle and how it worked. Time passed by when another man in an automobile drove by. He pulled over and asked the man, “do you need some help?” The man stood up and said, “Yes sir. I’m not sure what’s wrong.”

The second man got out of his vehicle and walked over to the broken down car. After a few moments of pondering, he got to work. Within minutes, he had the vehicle running again. The first man jumped with joy. “Thank you so much, sir! How did you know what to do?”

“It’s just an interest of mine,” the man replied.

“Well thank you again, but I didn’t catch your name.”

The second man smiled,” I’m Henry Ford.”

Now, we’ll never get lucky to find Henry Ford when our cars break down, but when we break down, we can ask our creator for help. He’s the one who made us, and He’s the only one who can completely fix us.

Quit trying to cope by using these temporary fixes, and just call on Jesus. I hope this can encourage everyone this week, and I thank Dr. Kevin Meador for sharing this story with us this past Sunday morning.

I hope everyone had a blessed Thanksgiving with family and friends. And hopefully there’s still a little money in the bank after Black Friday!

Remember to be a bigger giver than receiver.

And also remember the family of sweet, Ms. Allie Gregory. She went home to be with Jesus this past week, and her family is in need of comfort being so close to the holidays.

I hope everyone has a wonderful week. Please keep me updated with community news and prayer requests at bradley.katie93@gmail.com.
