Services for Bethany Whittle were held Friday, April 7, 2017, at McClain-Hays Chapel in Philadelphia with the Rev. Dennis Duvall and Ms. Alyson Young officiating. Burial followed in Hope Cemetery in Neshoba County. McClain-Hays Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Ms. Whittle, 16, of Philadelphia, died Monday, April 3, 2017.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Neshoba County and a student of Neshoba Central High School, where she was a member of the cross country team. She was a member of the Union Riding Club, where she enjoyed riding her horse and barrel racing.
She loved and enjoyed life to the fullest and had a smile on her face everywhere she went. “She was our ray of sunshine.” Ms. Whittle was a member of Hope Baptist Church, where she enjoyed serving the Lord and spending time with her youth friends.
Survivors include her parents, Robert and Miranda Whittle of Philadelphia; two sisters, Brianna and Blair Whittle of Philadelphia; her grandparents, Patricia and Paul Gray of Philadelphia, and Roy and Deborah Lucroy of Philadelphia; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Miss Whittle was preceded in death by her grandfather, Hulon Whittle; and great-grandparents, Grady and Ruth Pullin, Jim and Wadean Whittle, Percy and Bonnie Lucroy, and Marvin and Etoile Goss.
Pallbearers were Jonathon “John-John” Osborne, Cody Thaggard, Lane Belk, Jamie Rickles, Mason Bates, Justin McDaniel, Jarrell Pennington, Tanner Williams, Gage Mayo, Micah McDaniel, Hagen Pike, Aaron Phillips, A. J. Watkins, Joseph Clay, Sterling Koelker, Nathan Straight, Brandon Ladd, Kaleb Cumberland, Hayden Pilgrim and Noah Massey.
