Services for Ms. Ellen Geneva Paris Sistrunk was held at 3 p.m. Friday, March 9 at Milling Funeral Home Chapel of Union with burial in the Lucern Church of God Cemetery.
Visitation was held from 1:30-3 p.m. on Friday at Milling Funeral Home of Union.
The Rev. Heath Ellinburg officiated.
Mrs. Sistrunk, 75, of Laurel formally of Union, passed away following a lengthy illness on Monday, March 5, 2018, at her residence, surrounded by her family. She was born on Aug. 26, 1942, in Eva, La.
Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Riley Sistrunk; four daughters, Pamela Parker and her husband, Wayne, of Union, Brenda Knapp and her partner Tracy of Flemington, N.J., Rhonda Garner and her husband, Michael of Newellton, La., and Darlene Blackledge and her husband, Jimmy, of Laurel; two brothers, Donnie Paris and his wife, Pat, of Jonesville, La., and Ray Paris and his wife, Martha, of Monterey, La.; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Sistrunk was preceded in death by her parents, Wesley and Zadie Paris and her brother, Lloyd Paris all were of Monterey, La.
Pallbearers were Wayne Parker, Jimmy Blackledge, Donnie Addy, Michael Garner, Ron Barnett and Joshua Brown.
Honorary pallbearers were Jathyn Tucker and Dakota Arnold.
The family would like to thank Comfort Care Hospice for all they did to care for Mrs. Sistrunk and especially her nurse, Kim.
Milling Funeral Home of Union was in charge of the arrangements.
