Mr. Lum J. “L.J.” Jacobs, 91, passed away on Friday, Dec. 1, 2017, at his home in Lawrence. Visitation was held from noon to 1:45 p.m. Sunday Dec. 3 at Wolf Funeral Services in Lake. Funeral Services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday Dec. 3 at the Wolf Funeral Services Chapel in Lake with Bros. Larry Laird and Tommy Tanner officiating. Burial followed in the Ebenezer Baptist Cemetery. Wolf Funeral Services in Lake was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Jacobs had lived in Lawrence for 75 years where he moved from Morton. He was a member of the Pine Ridge Baptist Church. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and talk to people about hunting.
He was preceded in death by his son, Mark Jacobs; a daughter, Linda Jacobs; and one granddaughter, Lisa Kersh.
He is survived by his wife, Lillie Pearl Jacobs of Lawrence; four children, Paula Monk (Kenny) of Forest, Judy Haley (Lee) of Arkansas, Joshua Jacobs of California, and Jonathan Jacobs of Newton; one sister, Dot Cooley of Ellisville; one brother, Larry Gene Jacobs of Tennessee; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Dwight Jacobs, David Mitchell, Jason Mitchell, Jimmy McMillan, Brandon Monk, and Jeffery Monk. Honorary Pallbearers will be Kenneth Monk and Jonathan Jacobs.
