The Lake Lady Hornets had little trouble in their first-round playoffs series last week, beating Winona 20-8 and 12-2 to sweep the series.
In their other action last week, Lake lost 13-1 to Neshoba Central on Monday.
Lake, now 19-11, advances in the Class I playoffs and will play at Philadelphia on Tuesday.
Lake 20, Winona 8
The Lady Hornets built a 10-0 lead and put the game away with an eight-run inning to win the series.
After Winona pulled within 10-7, Lake finished off the series by scoring two in the sixth and eight in the seventh inning.
Lake had 25 hits in the contest and hit three home runs. Jordan McLemore was 4-for-5 with three RBIs and two runs scored. Kate Gladney had her best game at the plate, going 4-for-4 with two runs scored. Olivia Clay was 3-for-5 with three RBIs and two runs scored while Laurel Breland was 3-for-4 with three runs scored. Kaytie Hillman was 3-for-4 with two doubles and four runs scored while Taylor Duncan was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Hanna Wilkerson was 2-for-5 with a home run, double, two runs scored and three RBIs. Reagan Clark added a home run and drove in two runs.
Lake 12, Winona 2
The Lady Hornets used a five-run second inning to take a six-inning, run-rule win over Winona in the series opener on Saturday.
Laurel Breland was 3-for-4 with a double, triple, two runs scored and two RBIs. Taylor Duncan was 3-for-4 with two runs scored while Landry LeBlanc was 2-for-3 with a double, home run, three runs scored and three RBIs. Olivia Clay was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs while Alana Edmonds was 2-for-2. Hanna Wilkerson had a home run and drove in two runs while Kate Gladney was 2-for-3.
Neshoba Central 13, Lake 1
Lake had only three hits as Laurel Breland, Hanna Wilkerson and Landry Leblanc each had singles. Olivia Clay had a walk and scored Lake’s only run.
