After getting beat 10-0 by Newton County on Monday, the Union Lady Yellowjackets took out their frustration on Newton and Meridian.
Union beat Newton 20-0 on Thursday in a 4-2A contest and then beat Meridian 12-0 on Saturday.
Union, now 4-5, will participate in the Clarkdale Tournament next week as they will take on Pascagoula on Friday at 3 p.m. and St. Martin at 6:30 p.m. They will take on Ocean Springs at 10:30 a.m. and West Harrison at 3:30 p.m.
Union 12, Meridian 0
The Lady Yellowjackets used bookend five-run innings to take a four-inning, run-rule win over Meridian on Friday.
Union scored five in the first and fourth inning and one in the second and third innings.
Union had 12 hits in the game as Parker Breland was 3-for-3 with two triples and a double while driving in two runs. Mackenzie Dolan was 3-for-3 as well with two triples and a double while driving in three runs. Lilly Burton was 2-for-2 with two doubles, two runs scored and two RBIs. Anna Rigdon was 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored while DaShayla Jackson also scored two runs.
Britli Cleveland pitched all four innings, scattering three hits while striking out three.
Union 20, Newton 0
The Lady Yellowjackets scored 15 runs in the first inning and needed just 2 1/2 innings to beat Newton on Thursday in a Division 4-2A contest.
After the 15-run first inning, Union scored five more in the second.
Union had 15 hits in the win, led by Mackenie Dolan who was 3-for-3 with a home run and five RBIs. Lilly Burton was 2-for-2 with a home run, three runs scored and three RBIs. Jordan Turner was 2-for-2 and drove in three runs while DaShayla Jackson was 2-for-3 with three runs scored. Anna Rigdon was 2-for-3 with two RBIs while Parker Breland, Anna Grace Blount and Kayleigh Vance each scored two runs apiece. Debbie Hunter also drove in two runs on a single.
Anna Rigdon got the start on the mound and pitched two innings and struck out all six batters she faced while Brirtli Cleveland pitched the final inning as the two combined on a no-hitter.
County 10, Union 0
The Lady Yellowjackets managed just one hit in a five-inning, run-rule loss to Newton County on Monday.
Newton County scored four runs in the second and fifth and one in the third and fourth.
Lilly Burton had Union’s only hit.
Britli Cleveland pitched all five innings for Union, giving up 10 runs on 12 hits.
