Ms. Lola Addy, 97, of Decatur, passed away peacefully Monday, June 12, 2017, at her home. Lola was born in Neshoba County on June 18, 1919. She loved spending time with her family, cooking, and sewing, especially quilting. She was a loving and caring person who always had a smile on her face.
Visitation for Ms. Addy was held from 1-3:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 14 at Mount Zion Congregational Methodist Church with services following at 3 p.m. Burial was at the church cemetery. Bro. Lin Chesney officiated.
Ms. Addy is survived by son, Mike Addy and his wife, Debbie, of Decatur; a daughter, Debbie Boggan and her husband, Charles, of Decatur; seven grandchildren, Jeff Addy (Lisa) and Jake Addy (Brandi) both of Decatur, Natalie May (Caleb) of Union and Emily Thompson (Hal) Matthew Boggan (Calli) Celia Rohrer (John) and Cody Addy (Summer) all of Decatur; 10 great-grandchildren, Jacob Addy, Josh Addy, Lauren Addy, Tyson Thompson, Hollis Thompson, Fletcher Thompson, Katherine May, Anna Lola May, Elle May and Memphis Addy; one great-great-grandson, Jaxon Carey; two step-grandchildren, Rebecca Bene (Daniel) and Jeremy Scarbrough (Abigail) and their children Rowan, Aslan, Eden and Piper; a sister, Naomi Nicholson of Olive Branch; and special care-givers, Brenda Brooks and Barbara Jo Savell.
Ms. Addy was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, Cecil Addy; and her parents, Christopher Keen and Eliza Brooks Keen.
A special thank you to Sta-Home Hospice, especially Jamie, Krystal, Fran and Reverend Poole. The family is also grateful for the other loving caregivers that provided care and support the past few years. Memorials may be made to Mt. Pallbearers were Jake Addy, Jeff Addy, Cody Addy, Matthew Boggan, Caleb May, John Rohrer and Hal Thompson.
