Funeral services for Mr. Jerry Castile were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 28, 2018, from Greater Rose Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Union with the Rev. Matthew Canada officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Mr. Castile, 66, passed away on Monday, June 23, 2018 at Laird Hospital in Union.


Elizabeth Ann Langston

Memorial services for Ms. Elizabeth Ann Langston of Little Rock were held at 3 p.m., Saturday, July 28, 2018 at Smyrna Baptist Church.

The family received friends from 2-3 p.m. Saturday at the church.

Ms. Langston, 79, of Little Rock died Monday, July 23, 2018, at her residence.

Services for Caroline Barrett were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 31, 2018, at Milling Funeral Home Chapel of Union. Burial will be held in the Union City Cemetery. Father Darnas will be officiating.

Visitation was held from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday, July 31, 2018, at Milling Funeral Home of Union.


Florencie Harris

Funeral services for Florencie Harris were at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 28, at St. Hill M.B. Church. Visitation was held from noon to 6 p.m. at Dunlap and Thames Funeral Home in Newton.

City mourns loss of Gordon

The City of Union suffered a huge loss this weekend as longtime Union Municipal Judge and Board of Aldermen Attorney Rex Gordon Jr., passed away suddenly late Saturday night.

Newton County coroner Danny Shoemaker said Gordon died of a cardiac arrest and was pronounced dead just before midnight at Laird Hospital in Union.
