Eddy was 71 when he passed away from cardiac arrest on Dec. 14, 2017. He was born to Walter and Lois Nester in Union.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Lois Nester; two brothers, James and Thomas Nester; and one sister, Charlotte Ming.
He is survived by his loving wife, Karen, of 51 years; two daughters, Michelle (Shannon) Reynolds of Rockport, Texas and Laurie (Jeff) Bohn of Shreveport, La.; one sister, Elizabeth (John) Uskovich of Gig Harbor, Wash.; and one brother, Sidney Nester of Mendenhall; seven grandchildren, Joshua, Ashley, J.J. Simon, and Hannah Bohn, Austen and Emily Reynolds; and two great-grandchildren, Brayden and Chyna.
Eddy proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1965-1969 and was a Vietnam veteran. The American flag waves proudly at their home as a sign of his love and commitment for his country.
He was employed by the K-mart Distribution Center as a department manager for 33 years prior to his retirement. He also worked for Fincanteri Marine System for seven years.
He dearly loved his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. The highlight of his week was “Friday Night Lights” football games, so he could watch his grandson, Austen, play and also enjoyed watching his granddaughter, Emily, play volleyball.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, Dec. 17, 2017, at the Rockport Church of God. A private military honor burial was held on Monday, Dec. 18, 2017, at the Coastal Bend Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers were his seven grandchildren.
